Day 53 – Terre Haute Rest Day II

The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure.  The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”  – Christopher “Alexander Supertramp” McCandless

The morning was spent being interviewed by our local newspaper, the Tribune Star.  You can read the article here.  Thanks to Howard and Joseph for such a great piece.

After the interview, we headed over to talk to some of the students at Booker T. Washington High School.  A big thanks goes out to Mark and his students.  They were full of great questions and we were thrilled to be invited to speak in front of them.

Right after that, Tara received a complimentary hair cut from Amber, the Wabash Valley’s finest hairstylist.

A little later, Tara’s parents and Aunt Judy visited.  They drove several hours just to stop by and hang out with us for a bit.  They must love us.

In the evening, we paid a short visit to our friend, Alta.  One of the world’s top-notch huggers, we were welcomed with a huge embrace.  She presented us with a beautiful hand-made card and a donation to our walk, in memory of her brother, who passed away recently.

Alta’s beautifully hand-made card. She makes wonderful free-form art similar to this.
